With the Election Day just a few days away, I will make this my last post. Below, please find an overview of my platform and campaign.
I encourage you to stack up everything I am proposing against the other candidates. While I know for a fact they all have worked very hard during their campaigns, no other candidate has provided as much detail as I have provided on how to achieve the goals proposed. Our beloved city is not healthy. Now is not a moment in Windsor’s history for talk, we need action.
On Monday, October …

Last week, A-News invited all Ward 4 candidates to ride the bus with their constituents and answer their questions. Here is the piece put together by A’s Cristina Howorun:

During March of this past year, Gladstone Ave., a section of a Transit Windsor bus route was under construction and the road was closed. This resulted in the rerouting of the Walkerville 8 down the 1100 and 1200 blocks of Chilver Rd.
Even though the construction date was known well in advance, there was no consultation with the residents that would be affected. This is particularly important because this section of Chilver is a main route for children walking to and from King Edward Public school as well as Walkerville Collegiate …

I recently completed a survey that was sent out by Windsorite.ca to all municipal candidates. I felt it was important to focus this post on my response to one of their questions in particular: Windsor’s youth make up a significant portion of the population. What would you do to make Windsor a better place for our youth: children, teens and young adults?
The focus of my election campaign has been to put the focus back on Windsorites and reinvest in our communities and neighbourhoods. An important part of many neighbourhoods …

Some people will tell you that a partial solution has already been made in removing big trucks off of Wyandotte St. E. A press release (above) was sent out stating that Chrysler was agreeing not to send their trucks down Wyandotte St. E. However, there was a key inclusion in the press release. It said “Except for delivery trucks”. So I personally emailed Fred Pernal of Chrysler Group Transport who was listed on the press release. In his response he went on to say, and I quote, …

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Windsor Square, Refine Fitness, Big Tony’s, moderator Jake Rondot and everyone who attended tonight’s Ward 4 Candidate’s Debate.
In mingling with the audience after the event, feedback seems to be swaying in the direction of myself coming out on top.
To provide those who were not in attendance an opportunity to form their own opinion, videos of the entire debate will be posted shortly. In the meantime, please enjoy both my opening and closing statements from the evening:
If you’ve gone around Windsor …

Much noise has been made about the lack of debates being held for individual wards throughout Windsor. Thankfully, one has now been organized for Ward 4 allowing its residents the opportunity to have some of their concerns addressed directly from each candidate.
The debate will commence at 8:15pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Walkerville Colligiate at 2100 Richmond. It should last until approximately 10:00pm.
I encourage you to attend and become informed on where each Ward 4 candidate stands on the issues throughout the ward and city as well as what …

I am humble enough to know that sometimes other people have better ideas than me. It is my personal belief that it takes a true leader to recognize this, embrace those superior solutions whether they thought of them or not and help push them forward towards success.
As the election nears and my door-to-door campaigning continues to gain momentum, I have been asking residents what they would like to see done to help improve the liveability of their city. One of the most common responses I receive is improving the Riverfront …
