I recently spoke with a resident of Wyandotte St. E. in Old Walkerville. She indicated that she has to check at least once a week how far items on her shelves have moved because of the tremors from big rigs speeding by.
While the truck traffic is visible during the day it increases, and with higher speeds, in the late hours of the evening or very early hours of the morning. It is only a matter of time until it becomes more than just a nuisance to home owners and that someone’s life is put …

While updating my campaign’s Facebook page, I saw an article shared by Steve Green of Windsor Essex Community Supported Agriculture. It is titled “Smart city governments grow produce for the people”.
This article is a perfect example of what can be done in Windsor with my “Let’s Help Windsor Grow” Municipal Food Plan. Can you imagine the medians down Giles Boulevard covered in edible gardens (I would still keep the cherry blossom trees)?

My work with WindsorEats has allowed me to create many strong relationships in Windsor’s small business community as well as with numerous organizations throughout the region and province. These close, strong relationships give me a great feel on the pulse of what is happening within our communities and neighbourhoods, both commercial and residential, and for individuals young and old.

Windsor must take proactive steps in transforming our region into a “green technology Mecca”, similar to what happened in Silicon Valley with the electronics and IT industries.
On August 20, 2010, I wrote a piece …

If you’ve talked to me or have gone through my website, you may have heard me say that a Municipal Food Plan is part of my platform. I’ve received many questions asking me to go into further detail about what this plan is all about. Simply put, it is about providing access to healthy, fresh, local food to all citizens of Windsor and to help the city become a healthier community all while supporting the local economy.
I’ve spoken with many individuals throughout the region who believe now is the time …

Summer is almost over and that can only mean one thing: The Tour di Via Italia bike races are almost here.
Over the last 52 years, the TDVI has become an important tradition not just in the Italian community, but, for the city as a whole. Visitors come from across Ontario, the United States and even Europe to participate in this race and thousands of spectators line the street (and local businesses) to watch.
Two years ago, It was brought to my attention that the race was in desperate need of committee …
