All council candidates recently received a very short questionnaire from a concerned taxpayer regarding the Ojibway Park area. As with all other questionnaires I have responded to, in my attempt to be open and transparent, here are my responses:
1) Do you support the Big Box development directly adjacent to Ojibway Prairie?
The city of Windsor has conducted a study named the Commercial Land Use Policy. The study concluded Windsor is oversaturated with commercial spaces and no new commercial development is needed without first using up existing empty spaces. Also, Windsor-Essex has less …

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Windsor Square, Refine Fitness, Big Tony’s, moderator Jake Rondot and everyone who attended tonight’s Ward 4 Candidate’s Debate.
In mingling with the audience after the event, feedback seems to be swaying in the direction of myself coming out on top.
To provide those who were not in attendance an opportunity to form their own opinion, videos of the entire debate will be posted shortly. In the meantime, please enjoy both my opening and closing statements from the evening:

With early voting beginning this Saturday at Devonshire Mall and less than three weeks to the election on October 25, I thought I would take the time to summarize my campaign to date.
So far, I have been the only candidate in Ward 4 who has given detailed plans on what he is proposing. To me, that is a bit concerning. Anyone can say words that others want to hear, but how do they plan on solving those issues?

That is where something like my “Green Jobs Policy” would come into place. It would be that policy and help push Windsor into a leadership role in nurturing and supporting green research, development and manufacturing businesses.
Recently, the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation released their draft strategic …

A new industry is on the verge of being created in our region and Windsor needs to play a key role in sustaining its future and job growth potential. Wind and solar energy companies have slowly begun to trickle in, however, more must be done to ensure these businesses, and their jobs, continue to locate here. Windsor must take proactive steps in transforming our region into a “green technology Mecca”, similar to what happened in Silicon Valley with the electronics and IT industries.
On August 20, 2010, I wrote a piece …

While you may or may not agree with its significance, green energy and environmentalism is here and will arguably be major players in not just the future of Windsor, but every city.
Windsor and Essex County have made major strides in welcoming the green technology industry with multiple solar businesses locating here and many windmills dotting our county’s skyline.
An industry is starting to form and now Windsor must do everything it can to nourish it and create an atmosphere that helps these firms blossom. It is time for Windsor to change …
