I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Windsor Square, Refine Fitness, Big Tony’s, moderator Jake Rondot and everyone who attended tonight’s Ward 4 Candidate’s Debate.
In mingling with the audience after the event, feedback seems to be swaying in the direction of myself coming out on top.

Last week I attended a press conference at Unconquered Sun celebrating the official launch of their “Made in Windsor” solar panels.
MPP Sandra Pupatello spoke at the press conference and said that ”Windsor-Essex is right at the hub” of green manufacturing but that  ”it does take government policy.”
That is where something like my “Green Jobs Policy” would come into place. It would be that policy and help push Windsor into a leadership role in nurturing and supporting green research, development and manufacturing businesses.

Local cycling advocacy group, Bike Friendly Windsor, recently sent out a questionnaire to all candidates in the upcoming municipal elections. To stay true to my beliefs in being open, honest and transparent, here are my responses:

A new industry is on the verge of being created in our region and Windsor needs to play a key role in sustaining its future and job growth potential. Wind and solar energy companies have slowly begun to trickle in, however, more must be done to ensure these businesses, and their jobs, continue to locate here. Windsor must take proactive steps in transforming our region into a “green technology Mecca”, similar to what happened in Silicon Valley with the electronics and IT industries.

While you may or may not agree with its significance, green energy and environmentalism is here and will arguably be major players in not just the future of Windsor, but every city.
Windsor and Essex County have made major strides in welcoming the green technology industry with multiple solar businesses locating here and many windmills dotting our county’s skyline.
An industry is starting to form and now Windsor must do everything it can to nourish it and create an atmosphere that helps these firms blossom. It is time for Windsor to change …
