With the Election Day just a few days away, I will make this my last post. Below, please find an overview of my platform and campaign.
I encourage you to stack up everything I am proposing against the other candidates. While I know for a fact they all have worked very hard during their campaigns, no other candidate has provided as much detail as I have provided on how to achieve the goals proposed. Our beloved city is not healthy. Now is not a moment in Windsor’s history for talk, we need action.
On Monday, October …

Last week, A-News invited all Ward 4 candidates to ride the bus with their constituents and answer their questions. Here is the piece put together by A’s Cristina Howorun:

I recently completed a survey that was sent out by Windsorite.ca to all municipal candidates. I felt it was important to focus this post on my response to one of their questions in particular: Windsor’s youth make up a significant portion of the population. What would you do to make Windsor a better place for our youth: children, teens and young adults?
The focus of my election campaign has been to put the focus back on Windsorites and reinvest in our communities and neighbourhoods. An important part of many neighbourhoods …

Some people will tell you that a partial solution has already been made in removing big trucks off of Wyandotte St. E. A press release (above) was sent out stating that Chrysler was agreeing not to send their trucks down Wyandotte St. E. However, there was a key inclusion in the press release. It said “Except for delivery trucks”. So I personally emailed Fred Pernal of Chrysler Group Transport who was listed on the press release. In his response he went on to say, and I quote, …

I recently spoke with a resident of Wyandotte St. E. in Old Walkerville. She indicated that she has to check at least once a week how far items on her shelves have moved because of the tremors from big rigs speeding by.
While the truck traffic is visible during the day it increases, and with higher speeds, in the late hours of the evening or very early hours of the morning. It is only a matter of time until it becomes more than just a nuisance to home owners and that someone’s life is put …

Last night I was scheduled to speak as a delegate at council in regards to the possible relocation of the Downtown Farmer’s Market. However, prior to the council meeting, a “deal” was reached to allow the market another year at its current location and delegates were no longer needed to speak on the issue.
Upon returning home, I decided I would post here on my site my thoughts about the Downtown Farmer’s Market needing to stay at its current location for the long term. If you haven’t heard, the market is being …

If you’ve talked to me or have gone through my website, you may have heard me say that a Municipal Food Plan is part of my platform. I’ve received many questions asking me to go into further detail about what this plan is all about. Simply put, it is about providing access to healthy, fresh, local food to all citizens of Windsor and to help the city become a healthier community all while supporting the local economy.
I’ve spoken with many individuals throughout the region who believe now is the time …

The Windsor Police Service released an online tool this month that I believe all Windsorites should look at: an online map of where all reported crime in the city happens.
By doing this they are now providing residents a great service to track crime in their city and have taken a step towards enabling the general public access to government data.
In looking at the data, it shocked me you how much the WPS is dealing with on a day to day basis and where. According to Windsorite.ca, over 700 reported incidents …

I am determined to bring the focus of the city back to its communities and its residents. I understand, though, that the people living in those communities know it best. I want to hear from Ward 4 residents about what you believe the issues are in your neighbourhood.
Leave me a comment giving one (or multiple) issues you would like to see dealt with in your immediate neighbourhood and what neighbourhood that is.
